Associate Dean Learning and Teaching

Karen Robins hosts and welcomes you to this year’s conference. Karen’s mission is to develop a culture of excellence in teaching, learning and innovation practices in Hertfordshire Business School. In particular her personal interest is in the continuing professional development of staff at every level within the school and to build the importance of CPD into the wider field of Business School education. She is an active contributor to the Chartered Association of Business Schools.

Malcolm Stewart

Dr Malcolm Stewart’s teaching and research interests lie in Advertising, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Digital and Viral Marketing, and Consumer Behaviour. My particular teaching interest is bridging the gap between academia and practice in the classroom to enhance student engagement and performance.

Aasha Shamsuddin

Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance
Learning and Teaching Champion

As a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance, Aasha co-module leads the level 5 Financial Reporting module and is module leader for two additional level 5 modules, Analysis of Financial Statements and Analysing Financial information.In addition she teaches on the level 5 module Corporate Finance and also teaches on a level 4 professional skills module, The Accounting Professional. Aasha has a keen interest in improving student engagement, particularly through the use of technology. This is Aasha’s first year on the Learning and Teaching team and she is currently responsible for the monthly Learning and Teaching Newsletter.

Caroline Wilson

Caroline is Programme Team Leader with strategic responsibility for developing the suite of BA Marketing degrees, and a Learning and Teaching Champion to the Hertfordshire Business School. Caroline specialises in innovative approaches to academic practice in the marketing subject area, delivering contemporary undergraduate education to ensure highly employable work ready graduates. Caroline promotes a culture of excellence and innovation in teaching and learning practice both within the Business School and further afield.  Within the L&T team Caroline has specific responsibilities for the HBS Learning and Teaching Conference; managing the Learning and Teaching  innovation bids and developing the Digital Skills agenda.  As a Senior Lecturer, she develops and delivers modules in digital marketing essentials, web analytics, social media monitoring, and creativity, innovation and technology.
